+huihkjhlhlhh gigkjhkhljl,pm Lee has been on a decline in the last 5-6 years (his prime was between 2003-2010) due to aging. Ke Jie is currently the strongest player in professional Go. He recently beat Lee 8-2 in a 10 game match up. Ke Jie also mentioned that although Lee is a top player, his style of play is not suited to play with a computer. The biggest weakness of AlphaGo, as we saw in this game, was the early game, when it is more intuitive to set up the tone for the whole game. The computer's strength is in the mid-late game, where detailed calculations and permutations play a big role. However, Lee is known as a player with strong mid-late game, but relatively weaker early game play. Therefore he could not attack the computer's weakness in an early game, but it will be very difficult for a human to out-smart a computer in detailed late-game calculations, even when it is Lee's strength (the computer is so much stronger in that regard). Ke Jie, on the other hand, although is stronger than Lee, is a young 19 year old player, and prone to mistakes. It will be interesting to see his matchup with the computer. The only reason why Google did not choose Ke Jie, was because of the Chinese government's ban on Google in China.

It is called "投子认负“ in Chinese (we even use this word in daily life situations, meaning one person has admitted his loss in something). This is the most standard method, and also the way used in international championships. Other methods may be acceptable, but obviously the aforementioned method is the most standard way of resignation.

It is more like an international way compared to other local methods, like the Japanese way. I consulted a professional just now, he told me that putting down two stones is the most formal way of resignation, in both Chinese and international competitions. Nonetheless, other methods (e.g. tapping prisoners) are still accepted in professional match-ups, although are deemed less formal than the two stone method.

+1FFForever1 Within the past 2 years DARPA was experimenting with putting neural networks into drones. Evidently these devices could fly around autonomously and remember places they had been. There was talk of them forming "internal maps" of the real world by using cameras and their learning techniques. That was over a year ago, and seeing how quickly AlphaGo went from beating the 700th best player in the world to arguably the best... The future might be frightening.
