i replied:
of course it makes a difference. it would reflect the facts that:
- the (historical) buddha is universal,
- he shouldnt be considered as belonging 2 any particular ethnicity (altho many western academics claimed he was an oriental like the tibetans or the chinese),
- he transcends ethnicity & race,
- buddhism adapts 2 every culture it's entered,
- most importantly, the cambodians would feel very comfortable 2c that the buddha looks like them.
I'm just thankful that somebody took their time and efforts to translate to Khmer for 1.6 M viewers as of 1/13/15. Thank you for sharing.

the historical buddha didnt have blue eyes. he even probably was an oriental. he was born in nepal. the people of nepal have been consistin' of both orientals & indians, as they are so even today. the monarchy of today's nepal is oriental.
Buddha is very good person in the world because he told all people go to right road , good advice and make person good kind ...., i am Khmer.
